Huge crowds descended on the centre of the Royal Town on Sunday, June 11, to meet the Caped Crusader and see his Batmobile, in another popular character event.

The Dark Knight’s appearance was arranged by Visit Royal Sutton Coldfield Business Improvement District, as part of its vibrant Visit Royal Sutton Coldfield brand, which works to make the town centre a destination to spend time, eat, drink, shop and relax.
Young fans, many dressed as Batman, queued to meet their hero and pose next to his amazing car, while there was plenty of other things to do, including making superhero masks and joining in with an amazing bubble-ologist. Music was provided by young rap act Bro Brothers.
Michelle Baker, Sutton Coldfield BID Manager, said: “We had a brilliant turn-out for Batman’s visit – it is priority of ours to make Sutton Coldfield a great day out for all ages and a whilst people were enjoying the event many bought a coffee, lunch and browsed the local shops which is brilliant.”
“We have been arranging lots of character visits like this as part of our programme of town centre events, and they have been very popular, with everyone from Bluey to the Transformers bringing thousands of extra visitors into the town centre.
“We are very grateful for the support that local residents have shown us – they keep coming along to support local businesses. All of these events are funded by local firms and traders through the BID levy and aim to inject new life into the town centre.
“We have got lots more events planned, so keep an eye out for what’s going on in Sutton Coldfield town centre.”
