Sutton Coldfield town centre businesses have sent out a festive message to local residents – ‘all we want for Christmas is you!’
And to entice shoppers into the town centre, Visit Royal Sutton Coldfield Business Improvement District (BID) have organised four fabulous weekends of festive fun, featuring magical characters, music and amazing attractions – and it all starts this weekend, with a visit from the Grinch!
Starting on Sunday 26th November and running up to and including Sunday 17th December, the BID is funding attractions that include real reindeer, a Christmas Farmers and Craft Market and jazzy musicians the King Brasstards brass band.
And the Grinch will lead a line-up of colourful character to roam the town centre over Christmas, including Roller Skating Christmas Presents, The Snowman and his Snowdog, Jack Frost and magical walking winter trees.
Shoppers will also be able to pose for photos inside a giant walk-in Snowglobe, or a huge festive picture frame.
BID Manager Michelle Baker said: “Everyone in the town centre is so excited for the festive season this year, and our message to Sutton people is ‘all we want for Christmas is you!’
“All throughout the year residents have supported town centre traders and businesses by coming along to the events we have organised, from an amazing Coronation celebration to our regular Farmers’ Markets.
“So, we wanted to thank them by putting together a really fantastic programme of attractions for Christmas that will really bring the town centre alive and get everyone in the festive spirit.
“It all starts this weekend, when the Grinch will make the first of two visits – we just hope he doesn’t spoil everything!”
