Bluey-mania hit Sutton Coldfield Town Centre when thousands of youngsters turned out with their families to see the much-loved CBeebies children’s character.
Bluey, the energetic star of the popular pre-school CBeebies show, appeared on Saturday 25th February – and was met by thousands of her excited young fans.
Bluey has become a global hit and has won the hearts of kids and parents around the world since the show first launched in Australia in October 2018.
Bid Manager Michelle Baker said:
“It was incredible to see just how many people came along to meet Bluey in Sutton Coldfield Town Centre. There was a real buzz of excitement when she came out to meet the kids, and they all waited patiently in lien to have photo taken with their favourite character.”
Bluey’s visit was the latest in a series of events in the ongoing Visit Royal Sutton Coldfield programme, which aims to encourage more people to choose the town centre as a destination to spend time, eat, drink, shop and relax.
Organisers Sutton Coldfield Business Improvement District (BID) are pledging many more throughout 2023, with eye-grabbing attractions lined up to bring people together in the heart of the town.
Michelle Baker said:
“Bluey’s visit was another great example of local residents turning out to one of our special events in huge numbers, while supporting the town centre and local businesses.
“All of these events are funded by the town’s businesses, and are part of our plans to make Sutton Coldfield town centre a big attraction all-year-round.
“Local businesses are investing in themselves and Sutton’s future – and we’re incredibly grateful for the way that Sutton people have backed their ambition.”
Sutton’s popular monthly Farmer’s Markets are due to start again at the end of March, and more attractions are being lined up – including events to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III in the Royal Town.
